Hello divine being,
What does your dream version of Earth look like to you? How beautiful can it be? How sacred could it be if humans were to live in harmony with the Earth and each other? What does heaven on Earth look and feel like? This is my attempt to answer to that question.
I was planning on holding onto this one for a while, intentionally spending many weeks adding to it and working on it. Then, I saw L.A. in flames on the news. A place like L.A. is sure to get a lot of media attention, with celebrities homes going up into flames how could it not? Now, I see these words need to get out. This vision is a vision that will rise from the ashes of destruction, the destruction we are all living through now.
This time is not “apocalyptic”. This is not “the end of the world”. It is the beginning of a new world. A better world. The destruction we are witnessing is simply fuel to aid in our evolution. How would your perspective on our current crisis change if you could adopt a “zoomed-out” perspective?
If you were to read only one of my posts in full, I really wish for it to be this one. This is my whole life’s mission summed up into words as best as I can. It is a work in progress, and many more additions will be made, but it is a true vision from my heart of just how beautiful things can be…
a new earth looks like an abundance of seeds ready to be dispersed to nearby gardens.
a new earth looks like asking your neighbors before turning to amazon to order something brand new in the click of a button.
a new earth looks like living in harmony with the seasons. in the summer we walk and dance through the forest. in the fall we begin preparing to retreat inward, getting the final tasks done before winter. in the winter we move slow and we sit in stillness. in the spring we watch our new seeds grow, just as the flowers and trees begin to bloom yet again.
a new earth is full of community, sharing, caring, and love without labels. a new earth looks like everyone and everything is your love, touching your heart with their unique essence. a new earth looks like drawing, painting, and writing for the sake of it, not for success, but for joy. a new earth looks like worshipping our bodies. a new earth is not a full grocery store, but rather a full garden and heart. a new earth is a place of play. a new earth is a place where everyone is wild. a new looks like less concrete and more soil. a new earth looks like less cars and more trees.
a new earth looks like remembering to take lots of deep breaths. taking a deep breath after having an impulsive thought. creating space between the impulse and the restraint, because we know the restraint is true freedom. a new earth looks like gentle movements to get back on track. no matter how far you may stray away, you are only a couple of movements away from getting back. a new earth looks like coming back to our nourishing practices gently, all it takes is one pose, one breath, one line, one prayer, or one bare foot on the Earth to remember. a new earth is full of moments to remember, slow moments. moments that take you so deeply into them you forget what you had to do, and that’s ok.
a new earth is a place where rushing doesn’t exist, where our bodies can move slowly and freely without stressing about the time. we meet naturally, brought together by community spaces and land that bonds us without much effort. we meet each other effortlessly, and we exchange energy with love and care. there’s no pressure to seek partners or romantic interests, humans just love humans. humans love each other so deeply and create strong bonds without the need for labels, expectations, or “futures” together, but rather create strong bonds for the friendship and love that takes place within.
a new earth is a place of respect. respect of our elders and the long lives they’ve had the privilege to live. respect of their wisdom. respect of the love and care they put into their children and everyone around them, allowing them to now receive that love and care back. a new earth looks like cooking for our elders, and dropping by just for the simple act of having a conversation and being good company.
a new earth is a place full of cups of tea. we drink cups of tea simply for the enjoyment and ritual act, not for energy or some other productive pursuit.
you can’t find a TV on a new earth…or maybe you can, but it is not used for any mindless consumption. mindless consumption doesn’t exist on a new earth, every activity leads to greater mindfulness, awareness, love, and compassion. TVs are used to watch insightful films, teachings, art, videos, and for community discussions. a new earth is a place where entertainment adds genuine value to our lives and isn’t a means of distracting us from them. yet, there is almost no TV necessary on a new earth. we make music together, we tell each other stories, read beautiful poetry, and dance together. why would we have to resort to a TV when our greatest sources of inspiration and entertainment are right in front of us?
on a new earth your neighbors are practically family. you can talk to them about anything, and always ask for a hand when you need it. nothing has to be done alone on a new earth, everyone is here to lend a hand.
on a new earth, children are allowed to be children. they can roam free, run to their friends across the street, and rely on any person nearby to help them out. there is no intense conditioning of fear or perfection. children are allowed to play and make mistakes. they are encouraged to fall down so that they always know they can pick themselves up. they listen to their own hearts and interests. whether the child is interested in learning about outer space and quantum physics or creating art with crayons makes no difference to the parents. there is no expectation to live up to, except for the fact that the child should fully explore and embrace who they are.
a new earth is a place that respects the sacred cycles of both men and women. women spend time alone and rest during their moon, and there is always someone around to help with cooking, cleaning, and taking care of her responsibilities. men are honored for their stable 24 hour cycles, and women are honored for their fluctuating monthly cycles. everything is built in a way that supports both of these cycles, allowing for all beings to thrive and restore their energy.
karma, cause and effect, is taught to young ones on a new earth. everyone grows up with the understanding that their actions have consequences, whether good or bad. through this understanding, by default, people take less negative action over the course of their lives resulting in greater harmony for all. when we understand that there are immense consequences to killing a tiny bug in our homes, we do everything we can to ensure that the tiny bug lives.
nothing is taken for granted on a new earth. every herb, vegetable, fruit, and flower is seen as a gift from the divine. a gift to keep living, to keep taking juicy long breaths, to keep developing our spirits and opening our hearts. every meal begins with a heartfelt thank you to the Earth, the plants, and the humans that made that meal possible.
a new earth is a place designed to support spiritual development. when an individual has a fire lit inside of them to practice a certain discipline, that fire is respected and tended to. there is encouragement to devote oneself to spiritual development, and there are systems in place to ensure this is possible. a new earth is not full of a society centered on greed and separation, but rather on generosity and union.
alas, a new earth is a place where nihilism has been annihilated. no perspective of nihilism can be found, meaning seeps into every moment and every being. humans no longer adopt the sentiment “nothing matters”, they adopt the opposite…“everything matters”. with the understanding of karma, nihilism makes no sense and is no longer the mainstream perspective. you don’t just do whatever you want, wreaking havoc on the Earth until the day you die, you understand there are immense consequences for such mindless behavior. mindful behavior is everywhere you look. in the garden, people pray for the beings they may have hurt in the dirt whilst working. in the kitchen, people pray for the food that has been lovingly grown for them to eat. in the mind, there are seeds of love, compassion, and wisdom that continue to multiply and bloom.
Thank you to all the incredible people who give me faith in this vision.
The Earth is a planet full of possibilities, it is a place where nothing is impossible. I know this vision and this way of life is possible. May my life be a living testament to it. May it bring benefit to countless beings. May all beings recognize how pure and perfect they are.
May you find some peace, joy, and hope through reading this. We are experiencing turbulent times, but they are not here to stay. We must keep our hearts open and our minds pure during this time. Stay focused on what really matters, and turn towards your heart to discover what you truly love. This destruction must end in creation, that is simply a law of the universe. The energy that’s being poured into the destruction we are witnessing is the very same energy that will be used in creation..in creation of a better world.
Much love,
Emilie
Thank you for this hopeful post. It is hard to grasp the enormity of the destruction that these fires have brought to people who have lost everything. I will come back to this post as it brings peace and solace.
